2nd Worst Flight Ever
The worst flight I've ever been on was this one, which will take some beating, but when the gate-agent told us we'd be leaving our hand-luggage at the steps of the plane for loading due to limited space, I knew it was to be a small plane!
After the Tupelov incident just over a year ago, I was reluctant to read up on the type of aircraft that was to fly me home to Warsaw but we boarded from the only entrance, found at the rear of the evidently old plane and walked all the way to row 2, which was four seats across but facing the people sitting in row 1, as you would expect to sit on a bus or train... It was bizarre. The seats folded forward, reminding me of the flight I've linked above and one of the two members of cabin crew sat in one of the rear-facing seats for take-off and landing.
As well as travelling without a coat, brolly and sensible shoes for rainy weather, I also travelled to Prague without my iPod, because I couldn't find either of the two chargers I have beforehand, which, two weeks on, is really annoying me, as they seem to have vanished into thin air. (I've since remembered though, that I can charge it on a radio alarm-clock that I've got, which made me knock my forehead with the heel of my hand as I realised that fact). Anyway - the point of the lack of iPod meant that I had to not only listen to the noises that such a plane makes, but also to the non-stop crying of a baby sat right behind me. It was a long hour and a half.
I lived to tell the tale again though, and spent what was left of my afternoon catching up with washing, online chat and Big Brother. (I'm hooked to channel 4 on demand) I met up with a couple of colleagues for a rather scrumptious Chinese later on and brought them back to mine for vodka and singstar afterwards, which went on until the early hours...
