Loons

Our family of loons at the lake is having a hard time procreating again this year. Last season they failed. It's now their second trial at it and if they don't succeed this time, that's it for this year. At this rate, we risk losing the loons forever.

They have 2 eggs in a nest on the small island. It's been really hectic yesterday around here and we didn't see them at all. Being afraid that the high water from recent rain and the waves made by motorboats could have destroy the nest and the eggs, I attempted an approach this morning and discover that one of the parents was back on the nest. Phew! Close call. There's still hope.

B. and J. arrived safely tonight. I'm so happy they're here.
