Itea ilicifolia

On my walks I see this beautiful bush, and it has these long catkins which hang down like tassles. Since I have been away they have opened up more. I have always been intending, to photograph them, and today was the day. I believe that the common name for the bush is 'Hollyleaf Sweetspire'. I have not seen many around at all, but while I was down south the Otago Daily Times' had a picture and a story about it in the Gardening Pages.
