Bookmark

Our neighborhood was rocked today with the sounds of a picket line at a nearby retirement home, protesting a breakdown in contract negotiations. This shot seemed like a good symbol of a bookmark in my life. Cuts are impacting all aspects of our life here, but for the next couple weeks, I'll be away. Our trip to the airport tomorrow may be complicated by a transit worker sick-out. When we get home, I may or may not have work due to education cutbacks. California may or may not pass a budget in the meantime, and who knows what will be missing in our lives as a result of that budget.

Tomorrow we head for Pittsburgh, PA, to visit Pelicanguy's family and attend a memorial for his sister. I don't know if I will be able to blip; if not, I'll have some backblips.
