Day Seven - Nadi Town
Backblip #7
This was our last full day in Fiji, so we headed into Nadi to buy a few things. We took my husband's Aji (his dad's mom) with us. She has been in the U.S. for 20 or 30 years now, but has decided to return to Fiji...her home. She doesn't intend on coming back to the U.S., so it was great to get to spend time with her again. We had traveled to Sacramento a couple months back to visit with her before she left for Fiji.
She had never been to the Nadi mandir (temple), so we took her around. When I visited in 2003, I took part in prayers. But this time was only for visiting and snapping a few photos. This is just a shot of one of the buildings. All the buildings on the property are ornate and beautifully painted. The ceilings inside are incredible with the most detailed colorful paintings I have ever seen.
In town we found a little Ganesh pendant for my son and lots of tasty street food. It was definitely a busy day.
This probably looks best large.
