When I was a kid, bus seats (and playgrounds) were covered with phone numbers and swear words in permanent marker. I haven't noticed this trend lately, which is good. Today, I noticed the word "love" written on the back of a bus seat. I wish kinder words such as "love" were found on the bus seats of yesteryear....
