What's that Mum?
That, little Finnzy-Bob, is the Irish summer.
Today being August 1st, we can expect the best the old meteorological conditions can throw at us.
Your pudgy little index finger is pointing at rain. Not drizzle or mist, no. Good old fashioned rain.
The whole phenomena is called a "passing shower".
Passing showers usually alternate with the odd sunny spell (anything between 5 seconds and 45 minutes in duration).
As far as I know, this is what the Irish weather has been like since records began and is likely to be for the next few centuries.
And yet the Irish state employs a team of over 30 full time meteorologists.
Don't get me wrong, I do not wish them out of a job (no matter how unchallenging that job may be). They all have their own personal style when it comes to announcing after the evening news that we can expect "a mostly cloudy day with patchy rain, drizzle and possible sunny spells, mostly in the east and south of the country."
Why not check yesterday's glimpse at yet more seasonal Irish weather.
