At the park

The wee man's swimming class is still off on summer break, so mrs monochrome and I decided to take him swimming this morning. Despite not having been in the water for a few weeks, he was fine in the water, and didn't bat an eyelid when I dunked him under a few times. He's even started properly "holding on" at the side of the pool - usually he'd hold on to the edge of the pool and hold himself above water, but I'd normally have to keep my hands over his to stop him slipping off, however today he done it all himself without me holding him at all. He even put his legs out against the wall of the pool for some added support. At least he seems to be learning from his swimming classes, so we're looking forward to the new term starting back in a few weeks.

After his swim in the pool, we thought we'd try him in the swing in the park outside. He seemed to enjoy it, although being a bit of a daredevil, he thought he'd prefer to do it with "no hands".

Not only was he swimming and playing at the park, but both sets of grandparents stopped by to see him today too, so it's been a pretty eventful day for the wee man. No wonder he was out like a light when his head hit the pillow.
