Blue door, Portobello

I'm frequently asked, when walking around Notting Hill, where to find the blue door, from the film of the same name with Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant.

The truth is, it only exists on some backlot at Shepperton Studios and tourists have to make do with being photographed outside the Travel Bookshop instead (although this wasnt in the film either).

There is a fair amount of blue paint around, and I did wonder whether the wood was this colour before the movie, or just dull grocers green as in Golborne Road.
