Poppies on the way to lunch

Had lunch with the 10th Astronomer Royal for Scotland today. Saw these poppies on the way to my lunch appointment with him. I really like poppies and I particularly liked the black dots. These are growing in front of one of the buildings of the esteemed institution. I wish someone had told me physics and astronomy could be so interesting - too late to change career??
