Conclusion
My park rescue project has come to its end what so ever.
Here's the whole thing: When the first heat wave hit Helsinki in May, our nearby park looked like a bomb aftermath because of the teenager swarms breaking bottles, destroying the plants and doing their needs everywhere. And this happened every single warm, sunny evening.
I started out a project with "fight litter with litter" thesis. The main idea was that the city workers would not clean the park for two weeks. I got nearly 4000 supporters in Facebook and collected a few hundred actual signatures to a formal petition.
The petition came back from the city council today and they're not going to do it. Well, their arguments are quite reasonable and I'm fine with that. Over all, the whole thing ignited lots of conversation about the city park problems. We've got many new trash bins and a free toilet in the park now. And the situation has "normalized" at least compared to the May-June situation.
It's all good.
