Man versus Machine

Today was the launch of the new cycle hire scheme in London. This is one the first bikes I saw going around London. I am not quire sure how safe it all is. You are only renting the bike, no helmet, no high viz vest. I wonder how many of the users are actually accustomed to fighting their way through London traffic. Only a few days ago a cyclist was hit by a cement lorry just in front of Big Ben. It really brings it home how dangerous it still is.
