Gearrannan black houses...carloway, Isle of Lewis
Spent a lovely morning here followed by lunch then a walk along the pebble beach. Well worth a visit............the museum reminded me of my Nana's house with the smell of the fire and all the wood panelling on the walls and roof. The porch was exactly like her shed with an old fashioned yellow dresser with the top covered with oil cloth, sticks piled up, peat and old tin buckets, boxes of soap flakes and the smell of oil.
