Purple Haze

I have been reading about the last days of Jim Morrison, and was reminded of that tragic period of time when he, Janice Joplin and Jimi Hendrix all passed away in rapid succession.

Purple Haze erupted on to the music scene with its blinding augmented 4th based introduction, angular main riff, and swinging E dominant 7#9 chord based rhythm section (a chord made so famous by Hendrix that some people refer to it as "The Hendrix Chord").

In the song there is a line "Excuse me whilst I kiss the sky".

A tiny bee comes into land on the flowering artichokes on my allotment. It reminded me of Jimi's song.

I hope you like the picture. For those of you who have Spotify, here's the song
