St. Thomas' Church, Bath Row and The Cube
New and old as seen from Cregoe Street.
St Thomas' Church, Bath Row, Lee Bank. The church was built in a classical style in 1826/29 but only the west end survived enemy action during the war. Pevsner is scathing about the subsequent landscaping of the area round the church, but more recently it has been transformed into the Peace Garden, which he might have found more acceptable.
