Neither Leeds nor Yorkshire, but Kent
Leeds castle was the destination for a day out today, with sweeping lawns, large lakes and fine buildings plus a good smattering of children's play areas, mazes and ice cream shops.
An aeroplane circled overhead with a proposal
It was a great day out in the sunshine, with plenty to do and a ticket that lasts for a year, so we would be daft not to return. The castle itself was playing host to a wedding that afternoon. The dining hall looked very impressive.
Outside on one of the sweeping lawns above the lake, a World of Wings display entertained us. My favourite were the parrots. Surprisingly large and graceful. Enjoy the slo-mo video here.
There is even a Dog Collar Museum, sadly closed by the time I got there.
Here pictured is a favourite panorama shot of the castle and moat, taken just before leaving.
