It's finally coming down

Yes, the famous car park in Gateshead so movingly described by meancoast earlier in the year.

I noticed the demolition banner on it yesterday and idly wondered when and how it would happen - a gradual attrition or an exciting explosion? Then today I was heading back past the Sage in the direction of the station when there was a heavy rain shower, so I took refuge in the bus shelter. I suddenly realised that the car park was actually being demolished as I looked at - it was being clawed at from the right-hand side. I only had a moment to take a photo partly because I didn't want to get the camera wet and partly because a bus to the station had just arrived.
