Wait, OH, I see
I saw this from a distance. It looked like a butterfly feeding, nothing unusual about that. As I neared, it wasn't getting skittish. That's unusual. Looking more closely, I saw why.
It was an ambush bug's dinner. Not only do they eat bees, they'll go for butterflies too.
I was accused of seeing only insects making more insects or eating other insects. I protested and soon pointed out there were two beetles mating on a head over a few meters away and saw some small butterflies mating. Dammit.
