Fort

Sun came out today, so lots of possible blips, this is best image of the day: A 1000+ year old fort on the Iveragh peninsula in Kerry.

About 20 mins walk from Cahirciveen, it looked like a Martello tower (Napoleon era), from the road but proved to be entirely dry stone construction up close and a lot larger than a Martelloe tower.

The national monuments sign stated they had no idea how old it actually was, range 400BC-1200AD but best estimate was 1000 years.
