Rose & Bud in black & white
I was so exhausted by Sunday of the camping trip, but I made another attempt to capture a photo of a butterfly, but to no avail. It was so maddening, because this beautiful black & orange butterfly settled on a brown "out house" and the contrast was great, but the minute I tried to focus on it, away it flew. I tried for about an hour, then gave up.
We headed home early, so the time of day was not right for taking photos. We took our time getting home; of course it does take longer with a trailer. We finally got back into town late afternoon, and as we were stopped and my husband was at the dump station, I walked over to take some shots of a beautiful yellow rose bush. The lighting still wasn't quite right, so I thought this looked much better in black & white.
I followed Willis's advice and used my Picasa program to change the photo to black and white, instead of shooting the photo in black and white. I thought it was a nice effect.
