Look Back And Smile

Today's Blip is brought to you by Kodak *and* Canon!

I was inspired by the Blip of another Blipper a few weeks back who held a very old picture up against a current scene to give us a look back in time. His/hers was much better as I really struggled to get the focus right in my one today.
As there is no way of knowing the lens size etc, it is hard to get the placement right. (I think it may be my short arms contributing as well!)

This picture is from the summer of 1976. The scene is in Laurence St, Drogheda and those pictured are myself (aged 14), my mum, my younger brother and one of my sisters. My dad is behind the camera and I'm not sure where my other sister was at the time.

I'm not just out of the pool/shower/etc. That length of hair was popular in '76, I promise you. That, and the fact that my mum cut my hair in our kitchen until I could afford to go to a barber at 17! The size of my collar and the very wide flares I was wearing (I can see them in another picture) are also '70s chic!

I enjoyed doing this today and will do it again. We all look very happy and it was a happy time, despite what was going on sixty miles north of Drogheda.
