"Meadowsweet"

I`m afraid yesterdays "Macro" day was a bit of a washout in more ways than one, the meadow near the river I battled my way to had been flooded over and the flowers had`nt recovered, anyway I set out at 4pm. to-day and walked 5miles up the opposite bank that`s considerably higher.. There are masses of wildflowers at the this time and the one I`ve featured is Meadowsweet which was an important plant in bygone days..The name was originally Meadsweet and was used in flavouring mead, it also produces a substance similar to Asprin and was used for treating fever..The blue flower to the right is "Marjoram" strangely it is not the same as the cultivated version but is in fact the wild version of "Oregano" the leaves have a wonderful smell, and the Bees love it. The sky is`nt bad either....
