Haile Selassie

Went for a walk around Cannizaro Park in Wimbledon this afternoon. Quite interesting it is too. Perhaps most surprising is this statue of Haile Selassie, Emperor of Ethiopia and regarded as the second coming of Jesus Christ by the Rastafari movement.

Apparently he lived briefly in the area while in exile in 1936.
