Verbier Festival Orchestra

One of the delights of the Verbier Festival is the opportunity to sit in on the rehearsals in the mornings.

This morning, the Verbier Festival Orchestra - a wonderful collection of splendid young musicians from all over the world - were rehearsing with Charles Dutoit. They will be performing Berlioz, "Le Corsaire" Overture tonight, and then the Bartok Violin concerto (with Leonidas Kavakos as soloist), and finally Richard Strauss "Don Quixote" featuring Yuri Bashment (viola) and Mischa Maisky (cello)

Before this shot were taken, the orchestra were rehearsing with Misha Maisky.

Life doesn't get much better than this.......
