O Hotel

Went for brunch. In this hotel they told me there were two options, neither of which was the 7th floor swimming pool option. So I officiously told them about it. Went up and found it was about 11quid for brunch with 2 beers 15 quid for unlimited beer and about 20 quid for spirits and cocktails as well.

I didn't really want beer with my breakfast I wanted coffee. After some discussion about no beer and a tour of the food I paid up and entered. The nice eggs florentine was not nice so I got the guy to make me a masala omelette. Very good - then I wanted coffee. not included!! So I pointed at someone elses coffee cup and asked what that was - no answer. So then I got annoyed and stormed off and complained to the desk, still no joy so I threw the beer vouchers at them and called the lift, at which point the manager arrived and asked about the problem. I explained that I expected coffee with my breakfast. This isn't breakfast he says. So I launched into a pompous explanation of the derivation of the word brunch and my expectations - and it worked!!

So I had that and then tried the buffet dishes , luke warm, so I ordered nasi goreng to be cooked "live" and had a salad whilst I waited. Both were good. By this stage the buffet was beginning to fill with youngsters who had come to indulge in the beer and swim in the pool.

So then I felt like a beer, so I had my two beers.

I tool the family back for a swim a week later, on the monday only to find that mondays are pool cleaning day after the mayhem of sundays.
