Camels of Arabia
Not in Arabia though.
Today we went to the "CLA Game Fair". We had no real idea what this was, but are always up for a new event related experience - everywhere we've lived there seems to be something quite crazy going on.
This was no exception - seemingly about 20 acres devoted to guns, dogs, gundogs, decoys, stalker-wear, tweed clothes, machinery, falcons, horses, dogs, dog demonstrations, gun demonstrations, gundog demonstrations .. well you get the idea. All of these are true, I promise you - and on the "dog stage" there was even an event finale, for dogs, called "The Grudge Match". I shudder to think.
If you ever need to get any falcon related ephemera, then this the event for you. Or perhaps you need a flock covered crow (£5 each)? Or, a really special device which reanimates your dead pigeons complete with doleful flapping (I have no idea why). You need to see this to believe it - so you can >>here<<. Or were you looking for bows and arrows to go deer hunting with - this fair is the place.
Or, if you want a couple of handmade shotguns and have £36,000 to spare, do pop along.
Or, if like us, you just want to marvel at the English upper classes, this is most definitely the place to do it. After today I've decided it's not the poor who are hidden, it's this lot. Where are they all normally?!
