Our Root Cellar
At the back of our summer housewe have a root cellar.
A root cellar is a structure built underground or partially underground.
Root cellars are for keeping food supplies at a low temperature to keep from freezing during the winter and cool during the summer months to prevent spoilage.
In our root cellar we have cans of drinking water, beer, soft drinks etc.
Here you can see the outer door to our cellar, after this one there is a second door for coming in to the cellar where it is chilly. Before you go in there you must check out if there is a spider's web or two. Believe it or not, a root cellar works and is good to have in this warm summer.
Here you can see our cat Pelle also, sometimes he follows me in to the root cellar.
