S.O.P.H.
Writing this in Paris, near the end of the holiday, it seems like an age ago (only 10 days) since we took the "old-fashioned" Dover-Boulogne ferry, all excited, as usual, about coming to the continent. Like a small boy, looking forward to the chance of trying out my French on unsuspecting citizens. It still works, just about, though I think they find my insousiance at burbling away with bad grammar and the wrong words less charming than they used to.
The sky while we were on the boat was fabulous. It was practically empty, except for a few truck drivers... perhaps one day there won't be any ferries. What will those of us who don't like the idea of a tunnel under the sea bed do then?
