In My Backyard
This is Freda,
(I too am still laughing).
At one time the Puddle was a world class breeding institution for miniature horses (I also sell swamp land in Louisianna) and Freda was purchased to serve as a guard donkey to keep the young foals safe from roaming packs of wild dogs, unscrupulous horse rustlers, and evil neighborhood children. When we picked her up from her previous owner we had to quite literally "pick her up" and carry her onto the horse van. Stubborn has no meaning until applied to a donkey. I suspect the real reason for the loss of the Donner party is that they used such beasts for transportation. When a donkey doesn't want to budge, and you have to get over Donner Pass by the first snow, get ready to eat feet.
We have since gone bust and sold all the miniature horses after the collapse of the miniature horse futures market. Because we can't ever again persuade Freda onto another horse van, she has remained at the Puddle to cheer our spirits and provide entertainment to visitors and guests.
I had lots of "my backyard" blip ideas but this was the funniest.
