Red as a beetroot.

This is our beetroot growing next to our carrots, onions, leeks and potatoes.

The beetroot is my choice, it was that or broccoli. I think beetroot might be easier to grow. I'm excited to find tomatoes on my tomato plant today, I didn't hold up much hope after my last effort resulted in a triffid like thing over taking the whole back kitchen with no fruit.

Disappointments today include: the birds have helped themselves the the wild raspberries which grow in our apple tree, the apple tree doesn't appear to be be fruiting again and my strawberries look like mutants. I hope they taste better than they look.

Good news! Aunty May my favourite hen has finally given up trying to hatch unfertilised eggs. It was all getting a bit wearisome.
