Preparation for the coming winter

Thank you very much for all the comments when I had my 100th Blip yesterday!!!
Like most of the other blippers I must say that Blip changed my life and my way of looking at things, flowers, nature etc. I always have my camera nearby in case of a nice blip. Thank you all once again for all the lovely words!!!

About todays blip:
Although it is in the middle of the summer and still high temperatures we must think about the coming winter taking care of splitting wood. We need the wood for our wood stove at home.
Some pieces of wood are almost "flying away", no problems at all to split meanwhile some other pieces gives stubborn resistance. I must admit we are a little bit more stubborn and we keep on splitting until some pieces looks like the gap of en alligator for instance. Some pieces are so very nice, almost as art.
This piece of wood is oak and it smells very good.

My husband and I are splitting wood together, it's really teamwork. We are standing in the shadow of a chestnut tree.
