Thistle Down

By Ethel

Miss Ya, Marilyn

Miss ya...coming home at noon,
And rattling dish, and glass, and spoon.
Miss ya...coming in for lunch,
And talking loud with all the bunch.

Miss ya...pulling on the door,
That we had locked so very sure.
Miss ya...Marilyn, in all we do,
And hope that you will miss us, too.

Part II

Miss ya...all around the place,
A-showng up yer pretty face.
Miss ya...snoring loud in bed,
With covers high around yer head.

Miss ya....peeling onions rank,
And knifing in yer old pig-bank.
Miss ya...always being busy,
And running around in the old-tin lizzie.

Miss ya...Marilyn, when it's past six,
And you are working...up at Dick's.
Miss ya...every time we turn,
And thinking of you makes us yearn.

Miss ya...Marilyn, in every way,
At least a dozen times each day.

*******************
Marilyn...went to work in Dick Kelly's Store...along in the 50's.
We sure did miss her being away from home.
