To infinity and beyond...

This little disco ball has started to resemble something from space, (or at least the background is) thanks to my incessant playing with Aperture...

But this little disco ball is no ordinary little disco ball.

This little disco ball has a story.

My very good friend Chris removed this from the ceiling of a slightly pretentious bar after a very good night out, and smuggled it out of said bar down his trousers.

I hung it in my classroom last year and we used to laugh about it when he came in.

I dont know at what point it got taken down (possibly at Christmas), but last friday, when I was feeling particularly sad about leaving, I found it in with my Christmas decorations. And it made me smile then too, remembering the friendship behind it. And it brightened my mood, and my day when I was low.

It reminds me that the memories I take with me are priceless. Nothing can take them away. And there are certain friendships that I will fight to keep no matter what.
