Sunset over Malibu

I picked up a new (used) lens yesterday from Craigslist and have been dying to just take a photo with it. Unfortunately, I didn't get out of work until late today, but I did get out in time to catch this sunset (taken at 7:07pm).

The new lens is a Nikkor 28mm f/2.8 prime, which I felt like I was stealing from the guy who sold it to me for $80.

While the sunset is beautiful, it isn't what impressed me about this photo (believe it or not, we have an amazing sunset almost every day here). I was impressed with myself on this photo because I held the shutter open for 1 full second to get proper exposure with no tripod, and the photo is in focus (except for the moving cars of course)!

With hands as steady as these, I should have been a surgeon!
