Ulster Folk Museum
We had tried to get here last year but ended up leaving too late to make it worthwhile. Even today we left a bit later than intended, an earlier start would have allowed us to go round the Transport museum also which shares the same site.
It's a really good day out. The site is covered in properties, different dwellings, businesses, public buildings from years gone by. They have been removed brick by brick from their original location and transported to the museum. It's a wonderful insight into how people lived years ago.
The majority of the properties are in the village setting which you can walk round easily, however there are some other properties that are out in the wider estate...you could walk to these ones too if you had the time but due to our later than planned start and the obvious desire of the kids (big & small) for a wee trip on the bus we took the wee rambler bus round the site.
This blip was snapped from the bus and I like it as there is nothing in the picture to suggest it is current...only perhaps the photograph it's self.
