Corrie Fee

Weather forecast wasn't wonderful again! So didn't mind too much that Mrs L had committed us to being in to receive a parcel for a mate. In the end it was more about being up in time to receive a parcel for a mate.

We debated about going down to Edinburgh or having another birdwatching trip - birdwatching won. We'd been planning on doing the two Munros Driesh and Mayar via Corrie Fee, but the way the weather's been this trip that's not going to happen now - so we decided to stay low and simply explore Corrie Fee itself.

As we left the car park there was a Golden Eagle soaring overhead an excellent omen for a good days birdwatching. On returning to the car park there were two Golden Eagles soaring overhead in between time we'd had a lovely walk but seen virtually no birds. The foxgloves though were very impressive - tall and full of flowers, I particularly liked the above one with the peaty Fee Burn in the background.

I've been asked about the burst facility on the camera, well trying to get a shot of the Eagle from the car park has resulted in 140 photos. We then moved on to Loch of Lintrathen and trying to capture a Swift in flight a further 133 photos, there's not going to be any great shots there, but I'll keep a couple as mementos.

Bit late by the time we were returning home so for dinner I treated Mrs L to a pork pie & sandwich from Tesco Blairgowrie and to spoil her even more, once we got home I was able to promise her a trip to Székesfehérvár a city in central Hungary, located around 65 km southwest of Budapest or Maribor, the second largest city in Slovenia - shame she's a Jambo.
