Bird of prey

This is the bird on a picture that Mr B's Grandfather brought back from his travels with the Navy in the Far East. The delicate shells have survived the years surprisingly well.
We saw a very similar picture in the background at an auction house on one of the antique/auction programmes, it's a shame it wasn't featured on the programme as we'd love to know more about it.
One day it (and it's partner) will get hung on the wall, at the moment that is still in the planning stage and they reside on the floor at the top of the study stairs!
