Lewis Chess Man

Spent the afternoon today at the National Museum. It's free entry but they sure make you pay for it in the cafe. Although it's not as bad as some places (I'm looking at you Deep Sea World).

Continuing the chess theme this week (and please see lainie's blip today too), here's The Boy checking out a Lewis chess man. He was very impressed. We played on a massive chess set and he played a game against his mum beside the Lewis Chessmen.

I have a bunch of photos I could have happily blipped tonight - only blip stress being which to choose. That makes a nice change ;-)

It was nice being in Edinburgh. I don't get into town too often nowadays and I couldn't help look at it through a(n enthusiastic amatuer) photographer's eye for the first time. There are images everywhere. I've always loved Edinburgh and it never lets me down.
