the wheels keep turning

It's prickly pear season and men with colourful carts piled high with the fruit are wandering all of the neighbourhoods of Cairo, mine included.

The way they decorate their carts is always interesting to see - the bright colours, the little bits of writing painted on. This one had the word al-hamd'ilah written on his - 'Thanks be to God.'

I've mentioned that before. That ever-present remembrance of God. And this is just another small example - that as he pushes his cart down the street - he is reminding himself of the little and big things he has to be grateful for. It is an amazing thing to witness in people who live hand to mouth.
