One of my favourite things...

My mother's cookery book. A patchwork collection of recipes and advice. Some neatly written in the right sections, but most rapidly scribbled on bits of paper bag, letters from school and mountain rescue flyers - the kind that are so old that the telephone numbers only have 3 digits! It reminds me so much of her personality...an excitable and eclectic mix, interested in everyone she met and so friendly that connections were made and ideas were swapped almost immediately. The fact that one of the chapters is edited to re-read "Fish...AND PLAY DOUGH" makes me smile every time.
