Del mar

I had to attend the Del Mar city council meeting for work tonight. Pretty dull stuff. On my way to the meeting, I swung by home and picked up Kona. I figured that she would enjoy the drive down the coast and afterward we'd go for a little walk.

One of the best things about having a dog is that I get to explore new neighborhoods. This time Kona and I found ourselves on a narrow dirt trail over looking the ocean surrounded by all these beautiful and vibrant colored flowers. The houses behind these flowers were stunning. My iPhone really doesn't capture the scene properly at all.

While we walked I thought about how, as a kid, I would just go wandering around our neighborhood, exploring different streets and paths and trails. For a few moments this afternoon I recaptured that playful feeling. It was nice and I was thankful for it. Sometimes being an adult is so tiresome.
