Your Inside Is Out

And your outside is in.

This wall and space is outside of my house but under the pavement. You can't access it any other way than from the lower level and when you get out there, above your head is a grill that people walk over on street level.

It's not uncommon round here as this is where coal deliveries would have been dropped through a hatch at the front of the house and then stored in the alcoves either side.

It's kinda sad that our house is probably sat over tons of coal but if we want to use some in the solid fuel burner downstairs it will probably have come from the far east. And the delivery man won't pour it through the grill for old time's sake, either.
