Sid

Blipping off theme on account of the dismal rain draining any enthusiasm for venturing over the doorstep today! Discovery was the theme for today....easy says Peopletwitcher Well it should have been seeing as how I work in the City of Discovery home to RRS Discovery, the ship which to Scott took the South Pole

But the day was one of low mists, wet wet drizzle and howling winds so instead we have Sid the seagull.

Sid is the source of much discontent in the office. There are those who feed him scraps and in return he gives them crabs of the shell type. There are those who cannot stand these rats on wings and immediately shoo them away unable to stand the high pitch screech that emits from their mouths when they see food or wish to scare off the opposition. I tend to tolerate them till the noise gets to much then rush outside wildly waving a newspaper at them :-)

Sid can get cocky and has been known to wander in through the open office door and mop up any crumbs which may have been left on the staff room table. Sid is husband to Nancy his poor female companion who has to fight for every morsel she gets. They have a son nicknamed the little focker. He probably warrants a blip of his own as he is a troubled soul :-) He didn't get off to a good start when he got stuck in a downpipe as a fledgling and we had to call out the RSPB to save him

Its amazing what you do in an office to break up the day an relieve boredom!
