River trip - day one

Dropped off at Kingussie with a couple of canoes and the instruction to just follow the river till you get to Loch Insh.

The moody clouds held to the hills and we enjoyed a fairly easy paddle with the wind at our backs and the sun on our faces. Route was about 7 miles, through the Insh marshes and included a picnic on a sandy bank and some fantastic views of wildlife.

Once we reached the loch the wind whipped up and we had to work a lot harder. The lure of coffee and cake at the watersports centre pulled us in the right direction.

A superb day!
