Galapagos Penguins with Red

I'm back-blipping three images from the middle of my two-week Galapagos trip, with a group led by top photographer Arthur Morris. We're in Puerto Ayora for a day, the largest town in the islands, with internet cafes--one of which I'm patronizing.

These adorable little creatures are Galapagos Penguins, certainly a pair (on Elisabeth Bay off Isabela Island). They're on the side of a very small island with red rocks and soil. These penguins are the second-smallest in the world, and the most northerly--the relatively cold waters of the Galapagos archipelago make it possible for them to reside here. We were in a dingy with other members of our photography group, on a ride during which we saw more of the penguins, a huge gathering of Galapagos shearwaters, and a whale (which hung around for nearly and hour)--and more.

I'll start backblipping for the entire two weeks of the trip when I'm back on July 22nd.
