Buff-tip Phalera bucephala

Isn't he/she lovely?

Miraculously spotted today and brought inside this evening for a few pictures. It just sat there doing nothing but will doubtless fly off later on this evening doing whatever it does - I suspect its young are responsible for decimating one of my shrubs every year as no sooner are the leaves looking lovely then the critters turn them to lace.

Ah well - I'd rather have beasts like this in the garden than perfect plants!
