Window on the World
This is my kitchen window. Not the prettiest of windows is it? From the other side it's different story.
The kitchen window is the only window in our house with a good view. From here I can see over Broomhouse & Plenmeller common to the best stretch of Hadrians Wall, from Spadeadam in the west to Henshaw common in the east.
On a reasonably clear day I can see the hills beyond those to the Kielder hills and the Cheviots.
I watch approaching weather fronts & see the early morning mists lifting off the wall.
At 10pm I decided it was time for bed and took my mug into the kitchen to put it in the sink. And realised I had missed a spectacular sunset. I of course dashed out, but with a featureless foreground, the blood red sky failed to make an interesting picture, but you can see the colour reflected in the kitchen window.
Where I can often be seen, cup of tea in hand, staring at the distant horizon.
