Medieval Times

We began the day at Chester; an ancient Roman town in England about 12 miles from Liverpool. The remains of an amphitheater are there, as is the old city wall that surrounded the village. A few of us, tired of looking at buildings and fighting for room with other tourists, decided to take a short train ride to Wales. We ended up in Conway, where you will find a gorgeous castle that dates from the late 1200s.

I didn't realize that my camera was set to monochrome when I set the timer for this shot...I really wanted to capture the gorgeous hues of green on the surrounding hillsides, but I am pretty pleased at the results of this shot.

Left to right are me, Oraine, Bruce, Brooke and Max. This was a truly magical day and, perhaps, my favorite experience of the trip to this point.
