Pink is the colour

of the tops worn by approximately 5,500 women running Race for Life in Heaton Park, Manchester today for Cancer Research UK. My sister and I were privileged to run alongside these truly inspirational women some, like us having lost treasured family and friends to this hideous disease, others, like my sister, fighting and winning the battle against it. A very emotional day for us for so many different reasons but we ran the 5k with all the others and wore our medals with pride at the end. At the finish line, amidst many tears and hugs, we were both presented with a beautiful pink flower by my nieces (my sisters daughters) and were told how very proud they were of us. Between my sister and I we raised almost £550 for Cancer Research UK and hope dearly that one day soon a cure is found.

To the many people still fighting and for those who have lost their battles - I am so very proud of you all!
