Besh Barmaq (Five Finger) Mountain.
A holy place for many in Azerbaijan who clamber up steep steps and polished rock surfaces, gripping on to wobbly iron railings to get to the top - where you can pray in a tiny, one room building nestled into the rock, tie a ribbon for good luck, have a cup of tea and pick figs (in season). You can drive all the way to the base - weather permitting, we got stuck in mud here in a 4x4 in April - and many come up in rickety old Ladas and mini buses. After climbing to the top, families gather round covered picnic tables for a shashlik lunch. We took our picnic to the shell beach 520m below where we ignored the rubbish and looked out over the Caspian Sea.
